Thousand Islands offer exploration boat trips to the public around Ramsey Island off the St Davids coast. Many of the wildlife spotted on these popular tourism trips include puffins, sea birds, peregrines, seals, porpoises, whales and dolphins.
Thousand Islands also set up and run the MCR race cars project. Having already developed the MCR race cars website, we were again approached, this time to redevelop a website with self edit capabilities for Thousand Islands. Thousand Islands requested the same design layout as the MCR website but needed the content management system to be adjusted to fit in with the different functionality requirements.
The Web Adept development team were provided with some stunning images. It was decided that an image slid show would be used on the home page to best show piece what Thousand Islands could offer. In addition to this a simple to use content management system was integrated to allow Thousand Islands to make content updates to their website whenever they need to.
Other key features for the Thousand Islands website include 2 news blogs to report bird records and whale and dolphin sightings, an extended image gallery to demonstrate the sights, and an edited video stream of one of the boat trips on the home page.
The Thousand Islands website attracts thousands of visitors each month and is one of our highest ranked websites in terms of average time spent on a website by a visitor. This has helped contribute to an increase in online enquiries and sales in addition to the whole Thousand Islands user experience.
