The Giltar Hotel

The Giltar hotel is a beautiful Victorian Hotel situated on the Esplanade in Tenby. The hotel overlooks the stunning views of the South Beach and the famous Caldey Island.
In early 2009 Giltar hotel were under new ownership in the shape of Malcolm Brace and Patrick Jenkins. One of their first decisions as new owners was to task Web Adept with replacing the previous owner’s ineffective website with a new website that represented the new vibrant Giltar brand and attract increased business.
Following in depth consultation and progressive designing we launched a new web presence for the Giltar hotel in June 2009. The quality images provided to Web Adept gave our design team a welcome head ache in terms of which images were the best to use. So much so was this headache that we developed an image gallery section in the website specifically assigned to show case the hotel’s facilities and stunning surroundings. Web Adept also identified that a news blog facility would be a great tool for the new hotel owners to use in keeping their online client base up to date with news, special offers and upcoming events. Content on the Giltar blog has included images of new refurbished bedrooms, images and well wishes to newly weds at the hotel and news of upgraded Visit Wales listings.
Other key features of the website include randomised guest testimonials on every page, wedding pack downloads, a Google map which allows guests to get directions from their location to the Giltar hotel and a link to specialist 3rd party online booking software.
The Giltar hotel received their first new customer and compliment for the new website within hours of it going live. They continue to get the same response now and guests often comment on the content added in the blog as it separates their website from others in giving a more personal and interactive feel. Web Adept’s search engine optimisation service has also contributed towards the Giltar hotel increasing their web traffic by a third between June 2009 and June 2010.
